DESPICABLE ME 2
A mysterious, magnet-shaped vehicle steals a secret laboratory and a substance, PX41 that changes animals and people into blue, violent creatures. At his daughter Agnes’s birthday party, Gru, former super villain, is kidnapped by Lucy Wilde of the Anti-Villain League (AVL), whose leader Silas Ramsbottem tries to recruit Gru to help them find the PX41. Gru declines citing family responsibilities and a new jam making business, but changes his mind after Dr. Nefario leaves for a new job. Gru and Lucy go under cover at a cupcake shop at the Paradise Mall (where traces of PX 41 were found) and Gru recognizes restaurateur Eduardo Perez as the supposedly dead super-villain, El Macho. Gru’s other daughter Margo falls for Antonio, Eduardo’s son, to the dismayd Gru goes on a disastrous blinddate with Shannon, but ends up falling for L of Gru, Agnes and her sister Edith. Many of the minions are kidnapped anucy. Gru is devastated when Lucy is reassigned to Australia after the AVL arrests Floyd Eagle-San as PX41 thief, since Gru had no evidence that Eduardo was El Macho. The real thief injects some of the minions with the serum, turning them into blue killing machines. Gru and the girls go to a Cinco de Mayo party at Eduardo’s restaurant. Gru finds El Macho’s secret lair, where Dr. Nefario now works, but declines El Macho’s offer to become is partner in world domination. Lucy realizes she loves Gru, returns and is kidnapped by El Macho. On May 6, 2013[1:14:45 – 1:27:03] Gru goes to rescue Lucy, but is attacked by the converted Minions. The evil Minions also attack the girls, but they are saved by Dr. Nefario who puts the antidote to PX 41 in some of Gru’s jam, which the girls and Gru use to defeat El Macho (with the coup de grace administered by Nefario’s fart gun). However, El Macho’s evil chicken launches the explosive laden rocket to which Lucy was tied. Gru saves her and after 147 dates they are married.
The party is described as being one for Cinco de Mayo at 28:29. The next day is May 6.
