Hello out there. Starting tomorrow, every day I will post the plot summary of a movie where at least part of the action in that movie takes place on that date. For example, part of The Polar Express takes place on Christmas Eve, so I may post about it on December 24th. Likewise, the King's radio address at the end of The King's Speech took place place on September 3rd, so I may post about it on that date. In addition to the summary I will list the director, producer, actors, screenwriter, release date and run time for each film. I will give you the time cues for the scene that takes place on that date. I will also give you the proof, either as given in the film or from an external source, such as a book that the given scene did take place on that date.
Now, a few other details for future reference. Many movies have several versions, so the time cues I give may be different from the version you're watching. Also the time cues depend on what instant is used as 0:00. This can vary from version to version. I include all prologues and intermissions in the runtime. Many of the dates come from a document shown in the movie, so you may need to freeze and zoom in to be able to read it. If a movie is a fictionalized version of a real life story, I presume the event as shown in the movie occurred on the same date as the real event.
If I had started posting today, the movie would have been the classic 1931 version of Dracula, starring Bela Lugosi, which starts on Walpurgis night, which is April 30th.
