BOYHOOD
Six-year old Mason Evans, Jr. lives with his sister Sam and single mother Olivia. After a fight with her boyfriend about her lack pf freedom, Olivia moves with her kids to Houston to attend college. Mason and Sam’s father, Mason, Sr. visits and takes them bowling. Olivia marries one of her professors, Bill Welbrock, who has two kids of his own, Mindy and Randy. On July 15, 2005 [28:54 to 29:37] all the kids go to a release party for the book Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Mason, Dr. takes the kids to an Astros baseball game. Olivia is initially supportive of Bill’s strict parenting style, but after he becomes an abusive alcoholic, she moves out with her kids. Mason, Sr. takes his son camping. Olivia teaches psychology and moves in with army veteran Jim. Mason, Sr. takes Mason and Sam to meet his new wife’s parents on Mason’s 15th birthday where he gets a solo Beatles CD, a Bible and a shotgun. Mason becomes interested in photography and starts dating Sheena. After a confrontation between Jim and Mason, Olivia moves out. Mason wins a photography contest and a scholarship. As he prepares to leave for college, Olivia breaks down, saying she has no more milestones in her life but death. At college Mason meets Nicole the roommate of Mason’s roommate’s girlfriend.
