THE BORROWERS (2011)
James Hellman, a young boy who lives with his grandmother,
Mrs. Driver discovers that the tiny Clock family, father Pod, mother Homily and
daughter Arrietty lives in his house. His grandmother also discovers their
existence. This forces the Pod family to flee on December 9, 2011 [15:56 - 26:19].
The Clocks reach a subterranean borrower city where Arrietty meets the reckless
youth Spiller. Mrs. Driver contacts eccentric professor Professor Mildeye, who
in spite of the disdain of his colleagues, believes in the existence of “little
people”. When the Clocks return
temporarily to their home Pod and Homily are captured by Mildeye. With the help
of James, Spiller and Arrietty rescue them. The little people return a gold
coin they found to Mrs. Driver, who uses the money to save her house from
foreclosure. Arrietty and Spiller leave to explore the world.
A good rendering of this story. The special effects are
fantastic.
